Just another WordPress.com weblog

We’ve changed our name!

…and we’ve changed a whole lot more than that.

We’re delighted to announce the agenda for the all-new KMUK 2010 event, which takes place on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th June at De Vere Canary Wharf in London.

There is no doubt that the increasingly widespread use and availability of social media technology has been responsible for a renewed interest in knowledge sharing of late and a resurgence in the KM discipline as a whole.

Building on the reputation of KCUK as the place for knowledge and information practitioners to meet each year, we’ve listened to your feedback and researched new trends in social media as well as advanced KM thinking and practice to bring you KMUK2010. KMUK 2010 is a place for you to connect, listen, learn, contribute, share, exchange, discuss, thrash out ideas and be challenged, so that you return to the office full of ideas for improving the way you share and manage knowledge at an organisational, team and personal level.

Here’s the full agenda: www.kmuk2010.co.uk

And here’s what is new:

  • KMUK 2010 Awards ceremony – celebrating success in KM
  • Business-focused practitioner case-studies from both blue chip and government organisations
  • Virtual social media workshop – with video, blogging, tweeting etc
  • Interactive format with maximum group and floor discussion
  • KM gurus speak alongside leading thinkers in social media
  • Networking skills session – to help you make social and business connections at the event
  • Ice-breaker and networking exercises as part of the programme
  • Harnessing web 2.0 skills for off-line collaboration  – what do you do when there isn’t any social media?
  • Personal knowledge management skills
  • Crowdsourcing as a KM/business tool
